INSOMNIAC & NUMUS concerts PRESENT: VIDEOCRUNCH
INSOMNIAC is teaming up with NUMUS CONCERTS and ARIE VERHEUL VAN DE VEN to co-present VIDEOCRUNCH. Part concert, part film festival, part multimedia improvisatory experience, Videocrunch pairs 6 short films from Ontario emerging filmmakers with the live scores of a trio of KW improv superstars: Amanda Lowry, Veda Hingert-McDonald, and Morgan Lovell. Joining the trio will be Toronto Filmmaker Lief Ramsaran who will re-mix and re-invent the films LIVE as an improvising video DJ. Videocrunch will be held on MARCH 22ND at The Walper Hotel in Kitchener, Ontario.
Over the next few weeks, Insomniac invites YOU to submit YOUR WORK to Videocrunch!
Selected artists will receive a $50 HONORARIUM for having their videos included in the show!!
WHAT are we looking for?
We're looking for video works of ANY LENGTH! Films, home videos, vines, etc. - ANYTHING YOU’VE MADE THAT MOVES!!! The films will then be screened SILENT as a group of improvisors re-invent them LIVE!
We are prioritizing marginalized youth artists, whether that be by race, sexuality, gender, ability, or immigration status. Insomniac is a festival that celebrates risk-taking films that embrace youthfulness and low-budget filmmaking. BUT we love all films! So send us whatever you've got!
